Doris Frahm April 27, 1914-June 28, 2005 Doris Evangeline Frahm was born on a farm in Otter Creek Township south of Kiron, Iowa, April 27, 1914, the daughter of Otto Julius and Anna Lindberg Larson. She was the youngest in a family of seven children. She received her education in the rural schools before being graduated from the Kiron High School with the class of 1931. Following high school she was a switchboard operator for the Kiron Telephone Company. On December 18, 1940, Doris was united in marriage to Allen Frahm at Kiron, Iowa. They made their home in Sac City and were blessed with one son, James. In 1951 Doris and her son returned to Kiron to reside. Through the years, she was employed at the U.S. Post Office, Kiron Telephone Company, Sisters Café, Nelson Sundries, Farmers Mutual Insurance and for fourteen years at the Kiron Coop, Inc. from which she retired in 1979. She enjoyed her retirement years in Kiron and, being an excellent cook, loved to entertain family and friends in her home, especially enjoying visits from her grandchildren. Other hobbies that occupied her time included sewing and knitting. While residing in Kiron she was a long time active member of the First Baptist Church. In 1996 Doris moved to Denison to be nearer her sister and family. Due to failing health she moved to Eventide Lutheran Home in Denison in 1997 where her death occurred Tuesday afternoon, June 28, 2005. At the time of her death she had been blessed with 91 years, 2 months and 1 day. She was a member of the Denison Baptist Church, Denison, Iowa. Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Anna Larson, three brothers, Howard, Edgar and Wallace Larson and two sisters, Faye Pfeiffer and Cora Johnston. Those who remain to mourn her going home to be with the Lord are her son, James Frahm and his wife, Jane of Schuyler, Nebraska; three grandchildren, Jill Frahm of West Carrollton, Ohio, Jeffrey Frahm and his wife, Susan and Jerrod Frahm and his wife, Erin, all of Gowrie, Iowa; six great-grandchildren, Drew Frahm and Keneshia Robinson of West Carrollton, Ohio, Tyler, Jessica, Paige and Anna Frahm, all of Gowrie, Iowa; one sister, Berniece Kahler of Denison, Iowa; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m., Friday, July 1, 2005 at the Denison Baptist Church, Denison, Iowa, with the Rev. Mark Aurant officiating. Music for the service included a vocal duet, "One Day At A Time" sang by Lewellyn and Wanda Larson and the congregation singing, "Just A Closer Walk With Thee". Mary Jane Petersen served as organist. Pallbearers included Jeff and Jerrod Frahm, Rodger and John Larson and Matt and Mark Johnston. Interment was at the Kiron Cemetery, Kiron, Iowa.
