Birth: Nov. 19, 1960 Death: Jan. 5, 2004 Funeral service for David Bieret will be Thursday, January 8, 2004, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Wall Lake, Iowa, at 10:30 a.m. with Father John McGuirk officiating. Special music will be provided by St. Joseph's Choir and Jenny Stimson and Arlan Willems, soloists, with Sue Mein, organist. Mr. & Mrs. John Geake and Mr. & Mrs. Ken Severson will take care of the flowers. Honorary pallbearers include the Wall Lake Fire Department, Jerry Corbin, Mike Blum, and Shane King. Pallbearers include: Marty Woerdehoff, Neal Friedrichsen, Francis Riedell, Lee Taylor, Marlon Snyder, and Terry Steinkamp. Interment will be at the Wall Lake Cemetery under the direction of the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home in Wall Lake. Visitation is Wednesday, January 07, 2004, at Farber & Otteman Funeral Home in Wall Lake from 2:00 ? 8:00 pm, with a vigil prayer service at 7:30 p.m. David Paul Bieret, age 43, of Wall Lake, Iowa, passed away Monday, January 5, 2004, at Sikeston, MO, from an apparent heart attack. Dave was born on November 19, 1960, at Crawford County Memorial Hospital, Denison, Iowa, the son of Paul and Norma (Ang) Bieret. Dave was baptized and confirmed at Wheatland Presbyterian Church, Breda, IA, and grew up on the family farm south of Wall Lake. He graduated from Wall Lake High School in 1979. On December 14, 1979, Dave was united in marriage to Jan Steinkamp at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Wall Lake. They were blessed with five children: Josh, Jenny, Josie, Jesse, and Jake and one grandson Jaxon. As a child, Dave loved to play with tractors, and his love for tinkering with machinery led to his life's work as owner of Wall Lake Used Parts. Dave had a passion for the work he was doing, which gained him the reputation of a workaholic. He was a loving husband and father. Dave was often found attending sports events of his kids and shopping with his daughters. He thoroughly enjoyed time spent with Jaxon, especially teaching him to dance. He was an avid collector of toy tractors, and loved racing, camping, and tractor pulls. Dave was also very active in the community as a volunteer on the Wall Lake Fire Department for 24 years, ten of those years as Chief. He was a member of the city council and St. Joseph's Catholic church in Wall Lake. Survivors include his wife Jan; his children: Josh, Jenny, Josie, Jesse, and Jake; his parents Paul and Norma Bieret; mother-in-law Bernadeen Steinkamp; a brother Chris and his wife Sharon Bieret; a sister Sherry and her husband Marty Woerdehoff; and his grandson Jaxon all of Wall Lake; extended family and many friends. Dave was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Wilmer and Maxine Ang; his paternal grandparents Mike and Rena Bieret; and his father-in-law Paul Steinkamp.
